A microchip is a small device that contains your contact information and any vital information about your pet’s health. In the event that your pet becomes lost and is found by another veterinary team or rescue shelter, they can scan the microchip and request the manufacturer to extract the information within the chip. This will allow them to reach out to you to let you know that your pet has is safe and well. It will also notify them of any extra care or medical treatments your pet may need.
Yes. The microchip is the size of a small grain of rice. It is made of materials that are compatible with your pet’s body and are made to last their entire lifetime – the microchip does not need to be replaced. Placing the microchip inside your pet is also a quick procedure. Most pets will feel like they are receiving a typical injection when it is inserted, usually in between their shoulder blades just underneath the skin.
